Joaquim Nhampoca
Joaquim Nhampoca was born in Sofala Province, Mozambique. He holds a doctoral degree in Health Studies from the University of South Africa, a Master in Public Health and a Bachelor in Sociology both awarded by Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo, Mozambique.
Joaquim owns some scientific publications in the area of sociology with a focus on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Child Protection, Environment and several newspaper ‘articles. Professionally, he has worked for 19 years with the Ministry of Interior of Mozambique before joining the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security in January 2022. During his engagement with the Police he was responsible for statistics, data analysis and awareness programmes on Policing Violence against Women and Children, GBV, Trafficking in Persons, Human rights, and a focal point in the spotlight initiative. In the same period, Joaquim used to conduct baseline studies, training police officers, magistrate and others on GBV and trafficking.
