Katheryn's studies and work have taken her around the world, from Mexico City to Belfast; she has had the pleasure of teaching students aged 5 to 75 on subjects ranging from mathematics to conflict resolution to English as an Additional Language. As a political science researcher, she contributed to the article "Community Engagement in a Time of Confinement" (Cattapan et al., 2020) published in Canadian Public Policy.
Katheryn Lewis
Katheryn joined the Dallaire Institute in 2025 as the Training Coordination Officer. Originally from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, she first became aware of the organization's mission while completing her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Development Studies, with a minor in Spanish, at Saint Mary’s University. She also holds a Bachelor of Education specializing in French and Social Studies from Mount Saint Vincent University.
Katheryn's professional background combines expertise in education, languages, and security-related initiatives. She has been involved in diverse global efforts, including the Halifax International Security Forum, Global Shapers Halifax Hub (World Economic Forum), Peaceful Schools International, and the East Coast International Development Summit. She is also a proud and active member of the Saint Mary's University Alumni Council.
