Ruth Adwoa Frimpong
Ruth Adwoa Frimpong is a Technical Advisor on Early Warning and Early Response with the GIZ under the ECOWAS, Peace, Security, and Governance (EPSG) project. Prior to this, she consulted for GIZ on the ECOWAS Peace, and Security Architecture and Operations (EPSAO) project where she worked closely with the Early Warning Directorate of the ECOWAS Commission under the office of the Vice President. Also, she served as a research assistant at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre. She holds a master’s degree in Conflict, Peace and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana. Her publications border on the areas of Gender and Peace Support Operations, Peacebuilding, Maritime Security and Cooperations on regional peace and security. Ruth is committed to shaping the regional peace and security discourse through a gender lens and is passionate about contributing to the prevention of the recruitment and use of child soldiers in conflict societies.
