Sylvie Omari
Sylvie Omari Pemba joined the Dallaire Institute in 2022 as a volunteer and moved into the position of Country Representative in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree (4 years) in political sciences, public administration from the University of Louvain-La-Neuve in Belgium. Sylvie is a Finance professional with more than 24 years of experiences. She has extensive experience working on corporate and private banking industry. she was providing solutions to solve operational, tax, compliance, and legal issues.
Prior to joining the Dallaire Institute, Sylvie worked as Client Service Manager at Standardbank DRC. She also held various banking positions in Belgium where she worked at BNY Mellon, in Switzerland at HSBC Private Bank, at Banco Esperitó Santo and at Mirabaud Bank and in DRC at BIAC.
As the Country Representative in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sylvie is responsible for mapping, forging, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (Security sector actors, Government, NGOs) to enable the successful implementation of project goals. And she’s playing a significant role in advancing the children, peace and security agenda on a global stage, especially in a Francophone country, through trainings, Community engagements and advocacy on the Vancouver Principles.
